February Lecture Showcases Newest Trends in Orthopaedic Surgery

News, Past Lectures
“Regenerative Medicine Including Platelet-Rich Plasma and Stem Cells” will be the topic of the February installment of the Medical Center's 2017 Lecture Series.
David N. Westerdahl, M.D., a staff physician at the Cleveland Clinic's Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, will present the lecture at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb.14, in the Cultural Center Theatre. He will discuss stem cell procedures that are being used for various applications including the treatment of bone fractures, regenerating articular cartilage in arthritic joints, healing ligaments or tendons, and replacing degenerative vertebral disks. He is pictured at left.

Dr. Westerdahl has a background in primary care and sports medicine, and manages a wide range of non-operative orthopaedic and sports medicine injuries. He is team physician for the Florida Panthers hockey team and Sagemont School in Weston. He also serves as consulting physician for the United States Tennis Association's Development Center in Boca Raton.

Come listen and learn about the newest trends in orthopaedic surgery, and take advantage of this opportunity to meet Dr. Westerdahl. A cocktail reception will follow the lecture. The Medical Center would like to thank David and Charlotte Shade for sponsoring this lecture.
