Join us Tuesday, Oct. 30, for a “Cool-Event”

Come and join us Tuesday, Oct. 30, to learn more about CoolSculpting at the Medical Center. We'll have live demonstrations and complimentary personal consultations. Sessions will be held at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Space is limited, so please contact Annie at 305-367-6708 to reserve your space. Participants will receive a $25 gift card to the Ocean Reef Club for each booked cycle. We hope to see you there!
“CoolSculpting at the Medical Center is convenient in a high quality and private environment,” said MCOR physician Mara Cakans, N.P., pictured at right with fellow physician Suzanne Romeo. “While it is not a substitute for good nutrition and exercise, it is a good motivator to maintain a healthy lifestyle and make good choices. Patient satisfaction for this procedure is high. We are able to provide this high-demand service to our patients, right here in the Medical Center.

“On a more personal note, I am back to work temporarily with limited scheduling hours and I’m anticipating the return of a full-time schedule within the next couple of months,” Cakans said. “There will be some continued visits for my health checkups in New York City. I am looking forward to taking care of my patients and have recovered from my illness with the support and care from this entire community. I am so grateful for the love and concern from you all.”

If CoolSculpting is new to you, here are a few commonly asked questions about it:

Q: What is CoolSculpt?
A: CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared, non-surgical fat-freezing procedure that uses a controlled cooling technology to eliminate stubborn fat.

Q: Can it reduce fat anywhere on my body?
A: In the U.S., the CoolSculpt procedure is cleared for the treatment of fat bulges in the areas of the thigh, abdomen, flank, back, just under the buttock area and under the chin.

Q:  What happens to the fat?
A: The treated cells crystalize and die. They are naturally processed and eliminated from the body. Once treated those fat cells are permanently gone.

Q: What are post-treatment side effects?
A: Typical side effects can include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, numbness and tenderness. These effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks.

Q: How many treatments do I need?
A: Everyone’s body is different. It may take as little as one treatment to achieve your individual goal. Your clinician will work with you on the best treatment plan.

Q: When will I see results?
A: You may start to see changes within three weeks. This is a gradual process and changes continue to take place over one to three months.
